The Open Interconnect Consortium (OIC) has been founded by Intel, Samsung, Broadcom, and other wireless technology companies as an effort to create a communications framework that allows devices to communicate regardless of the underlying technology or communications protocols. The scope of this project is similar to the AllSeen Alliance’s AllJoyn framework, but looks to expand on it by creating a framework for more than just the home.
