    Academia has a significant problem with reproducibility in research that includes large data sets and code. Researchers often need to write code as a part of their research and many of these researchers and the publishers they use don’t fully understand the importance of sharing this code so others can reproduce the research. Github has begun to emerge as a solution to sharing research code openly, an effort that has been expanded by Afron Smith.
