  • Open Source Tools Help Kids Grow Digital Creativity

    Youth Digitals is a for-profit school that teaches kids about graphic design and programming using open source tools. Founded by Justin Richards, the company just moved to Chapel Hill, NC, and sells online courses and runs summer programs that teach kids through the creation of tangible products. Kids get hands on experience building mobile apps, 3D models, prints, and animations, and websites. The company relies on tools like Inkscape, Blender, Eclipse, and GIMP just to name a few.
