With 4th quarter 2015 revenue hitting $544 million, Red Hat has become the first open source based company to produce $2 billion in revenue in a single year. Only four years ago, Red Hat became the first company to hit $1 billion in revenue, so this demonstrates remarkable growth for the company.
Subscription revenue for the 4th quarter was up 18% year-over-year to $480 million and was $1.8 billion for entire year; Red Hat continues to be a model of how to build a business on open source support services.
