  • The Story of Paris-8 University’s Adoption of Krita, Blender, and Natron

    February 10th, 2015

The announcement that Paris-8 University would be switching to open source computer graphics software sparked some major discussions in the computer graphic community. The school made this decision largely in an effort to reduce their budget, but they also chose to integrate these applications partly due to the skills and demands of incoming students. The school wants to focus on teaching the students how to do these jobs without being overly-reliant on a specific tool, and they hope that opening up their program to open source alternatives can help accomplish this.
