When picking out a Linux distro, it is important to consider the long-term viability of that distribution. In open source’s rapidly changing landscape, distros that can’t attract new users and developers are not likely to sustain themselves. Distros that don’t adequately explain their value and make it easy for newcomers probably won’t last too long, regardless of how innovative they are.
