The Google Summer of Code is an international program that provides stipends to students to participate in free and open source development. The program connects fledgling developers with open source communities to work in a mentor/student relationship and give emerging developers a chance to get real-world experience. The program has announced the participants for 2016 and is now accepting applications from students.
