Android’s latest version, 4.3, has a multitude of new additions that improve its security. For starters, it now includes SELinux, a resource and process access control list that makes it easier to contain applications to a sandbox. The operating system also features a selection of new key encryption mechanisms and support for WPA-2 Enterprise networks. Finally, Google now provides a lost phone finder service that can track your phone’s location on a map, turn the volume to max and play the ringer, and wipe your data remotely in the case of theft. Even with all these new features, it might be a while for users to begin seeing them since most manufacturers have been exceptionally slow updating their phones.
