OpenDaylight is a Software Defined Networking (SDN) controller that can work with a variety of enterprise systems. An immense amount of effort has gone into Helium, the newest release and includes more than 4,700 contributions from 183 engineers at 20 companies. OVSDB, service function chaining, performance, authentication, and authorization all received attention in this release. OpenDaylight is now ready for widespread adoption and can be integrated into many cloud services including CloudStack and OpenStack.
