Wipro, the third largest software exporter in India is planning to expand their open source teams to 10,000 people. The company estimates savings up to 20% within 18 to 26 months and they currently do not have a timeline for acheiving this, though it is expected to take 1 to 2 years or more. The company is focusing on reducing development times and improving applications, infrastructure, operating systems, databases, cloud technologies and software defined infrastructure.
