  • HP Thinks Open Source is the Key Building Block of the Cloud

    by Ben Pearson

Open Source is being increasingly relied on for cloud infrastructure. This trend was most recently demonstrated through HP’s acquisition of Eucalyptus Systems, a company that provides open source private and hybrid enterprise clouds. The CEO of Eucalyptus will be joining HP as VP of the Cloud Division and will report directly to HP’s CEO. The flexibility, quality, and low cost of open source cloud technologies is leading more and more companies to adopt and support open source.
