Scrollback, an open source chat platform for browsers, has raised about $400,000 US to expand their product. The company wants to produce a real-time chat widget that can be embedded in websites and browsers for casual and dedicated users alike. Currently, the app is open source, but the company has plans to pursue a freemium business model where they offer paid applications that include more features than the open source counterpart.
