SXSW is a giant event in Austin, TX that attracts hundreds of thousands of people from around the world to see the latest in music, movies, technology, and art. Most people are aware of the bigger events that require badges to get in, but there are also a ton of smaller events that are free to the public. One such event is SX Create which features the makerspace/hackerspace culture and includes a lot of elements of open source.
This is the 4th year of SX Create and Dremel is the event’s sponsor this year. Other companies and organizations that will be in attendance include SparkFun, Aleph Objects, e-NABLE, FOSS @ Magic, the Open Source Hardware Association, Red Hat, and re:3D. If you are going to be in the Austin area this weekend, don’t miss this event!
Note from the editor: I will personally be attending this event this weekend, feel free to reach out to me if you will be there as well. I always enjoy having a chat with open source aficionados.
