One of the limitations of 3d printing is often the use of a single extruder nozzle that must lay out all of the material in a print job. Autodesk seeks to expand this bottleneck through project Escher: software that coordinates the operation of multiple extruders to complete a single print job. The ability to add extruders to a print job can drastically reduce the time it takes to complete large prints, depending on the geometry.
