Azul Systems has released a version of its Zulu OpenJDK implementation that utilizes Docker. The motto of Java has always been to “write once, run anywhere,” and Docker will bring Java one step closer to accomplishing this goal. Docker will make it much easier to configure, package, and deploy Java applications in a way that is agnostic of the host system. Zulu 8 is currently the only commercially available OpenJDK Java Virtual Machine implementation that fully supports Java 8. It is also capable of supporting Java 6 and 7 as well.
