Researchers at Red Hat have discovered a bug in old version of Bash (Bourne Again SHell) which is one of the most commonly used utilities in Linux. The exploit potentially opens up servers to complete take over by remote hackers. Most desktop operating systems that use Bash are safe, however, because the computer must be listening for services on specific ports for this to be a risk.
