Its been over three years since Facebook launched the Open Compute project, an effort to design and build large scale computing infrastructure that is efficient and low cost. The project is following an open development model that is similar to open source methodology where all IP is shared openly amongst participants. The community is currently working towards building mature technologies that can serve enterprise needs.
