In the wake of the Heartbleed bug, the OpenSSL community has released a project roadmap focused on addressing the many issues faced by the project. The community seeks to address the excessive size of the bug tracking backlog, poor documentation, inconsistent coding styles, lack of code review, lack of a clear release plan, lack of official strategy, and no published security strategy. These efforts, along with growing financial support from the industry should help address many of the concerns with this project.
