OpenStack has com a long way since its start as a collaborative project between NASA and Rackspace, and many major corporations like HP, Intel, and IBM have gotten on board with the project. New functionality is being added in areas like network functions virtualization and as a platform for building applications. With all these new features and functionality some claim the project as a whole has been focusing too much on features and not enough on stability. Now, major players in the OpenStack ecosystem are proposing new development models to improve the stability of OpenStack.
