Kubernetes is an open source container orchestration system that was launched by Google. Apprenda is a startup based out of Troy, NY that deploys computer applications in industries like finance and pharmaceuticals, and they have announced they will be merging Kubernetes into their platform and joining the Kubernetes community.
They chose Kubernetes for three primary reasons. First, the technology behind Kubernetes is ideal for scaling cloud architecture. Second, the project is backed by a large, diverse, and growing community that is open and welcoming. Third, Apprenda believes Kubernetes fills the right market niche to support the future of their IT needs.
