There is a wide variety of cloud technologies for IT experts to choose from these days, especially in the open source arena. The Linux Foundation released their 2015 guide to the open cloud on January 20th which servers as a primer to help any organization consider a migration to the cloud. This guide expands and updates the previous guide which was produced in October 2013, and it focuses on the technologies the foundation believes will continue to drive innovation for years to come. Their metrics for success include maturity, visibility, the number of contributors, code commits and enterprise use.
