Scientific research has been held back to some extent in recent years due to the restrictions the traditional publishing model imposes.  A number of tools have been built to remedy this, including the Open Science Framework: a cloud-based management system for scientific research, and GitLab: a popular platform for hosting digital resources like software code.

The Center for Open Science is launching a new effort to bring scientific research and publishing into the 21st century and they are looking for help. The company seeks to integrate the Open Science Framework with GitLab to provide a suite of tools that makes it much easier for researchers to track their work. Many users of this software have expressed interest in having these two projects integrated, because of this the Center for Open Science seeks developers and scientists to help make this happen. They are seeking both employees and volunteers that are interested in putting their development skills towards the advancement of scientific research.
